Family Business Award

The IMD-Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch Distinguished Family Business Award was created by the International Institute for Management Development and Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch to recognize top-performing family businesses that successfully combine tradition and innovation, as well as making a contribution to the community. It has been presented annually since 1996.

Exemplary governance, the involvement of several generations, and clear, long-term social commitment are some of the demanding criteria that award winners must meet.

This prize, which is one of the most prestigious honors that a family business can receive, thus highlights:

  • the substantial contribution that family businesses make to the global economy
  • the talent of managers who view family and business interests as one
  • the best practices which make these companies an inspiration for other family businesses
