Swiss Houses

Created by the Swiss Confederation with the support of the private sector, these "science consulates" are aimed at promoting Switzerland’s qualities and strengths in research, innovation, and education.

The mission of the Swiss Houses is therefore to inform, to coordinate training and exchange programs, and to encourage partnerships. They do this by organizing conferences, exhibitions, and seminars which seek to widen the scope for long-term cooperation between the academic, industrial and financial worlds of different countries.

Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch initiated the founding of the first Swiss House in Boston in 1998. Called SHARE (Swiss House for Advanced Research and Education), the "science consulate" was set up to foster exchanges between New England, Canada, and Switzerland, a role that it is still fulfilling today.

Since then, our Firm has been involved in the creation of other Swiss Houses in San Francisco (swissnex) and Singapore. Another is set to open its doors in Shanghai in 2008.
